A - How can Sinclair Address the Redlining of Education and Lucrative Incomes for Marginalized Populations

9:45 - 10:35 AM

This interactive presentation will discuss pre-Covid-19 resources, access to education and success rates of Black Hispanic/Latinx compared to their white peers and post Covid-19 resources and access to education and success rates to date of Black, Hispanic/Latinx compared to their white peers.

Throughout the pandemic Black and Hispanic/Latinx faced higher risks of contracting Covid-19 and faced a disproportionately higher risk of death due to many being employed as essential workers. Others became unemployed due to businesses being shut down or slashing income. With this economic crisis, many families experienced a new surge in food insecurity.

Additionally, community colleges also saw a steep drop in enrollment due to Covid-19.

Our solution which addresses education, employment and Sinclair enrollment, is the implementation of the Two-Gen (2G Program Proposal).
