ADULT Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8-hour training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to appropriate care.

WHAT IT COVERS • Common signs and symptoms of mental illness. • Common signs and symptoms of substance use. • How to interact with a person in crisis. • How to connect the person with help.

This course is valued at $170. Thanks to the Human Services Levy and the citizens of Montgomery County, learners may attend at no charge.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

**Please note - this session will be held in person** COVID safety measures will be in place in accordance with State and Local guidance. The training will be held at 409 E. Monument Ave. Dayton, OH 45402. More details will be sent the day prior to class.  Please arrive on-time and dressed in preparation for temperature fluctuations that may occur in the training room. Coffee and water will be provided.

CERTIFICATIONS & CONTINUING EDUCATION:

Participants that complete the full 8 hours of Mental Health First Aid training will secure a three-year certification.
