Approaches to aid Students in Identifying their own Implicit Biases and Work Toward more Equitable Outcomes

2:15 - 3:15 PM

Participants will learn about the results of an action research study that sought to locate and evaluate instructional strategies that allowed community college students to identify their own implicit biases and, therefore, create more equitable outcomes in their coursework. Participants will discuss strategies to modify and implement the tools employed in the study in any classroom. Faculty members aspiring to boost student awareness of unconscious bias in their classroom will benefit from attending. The session will last 50 minutes.
