Assigning and Evaluating Effective Student Presentations

Is an oral presentation assignment right for your class?  Need a refresher on some of the basic elements of a good presentation?  Would you like some tips on how to assign and then, importantly, evaluate those oral presentations?  If you answered, “Yes,” to any of these questions, this workshop is for you.

This workshop will examine the pedagogical utility of student oral presentations.  We will focus on designing presentation assignments that best fit the learning objectives of the course.  Next, we will review some basic criteria to include when making the assignment.  Finally, participants will leave this workshop with the necessary tools to critically evaluate student oral presentations.
