B - Leave Your Doubt at the Door: A Celebration of Neurodiversity

11:00 - 11:50 AM

People who are neurodiverse, particularly those who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), are less likely to attend college and obtain gainful employment but often have a strong desire to work and be active members of their communities. Together we will unpack why the disparities exist and how Sinclair serves folks with IDD and other disabilities through the Tartan TOPS Program, Autism Support Group, and Accessibility Services. We will work to change the focus from people’s deficits and instead will discover how focusing on strengths can stretch abilities to new horizons. Participants are invited to leave their doubt at the door, to celebrate our unique brains, and to learn how to better serve Sinclair’s neurodiverse students.
