On Oct. 13 of this year the Ohio State Board of Education repealed the Equity Resolution that they had approved in July 2020 in the wake of the murder of George Floyd. On the day of the vote, public testimony was heard both in favor and against repealing the Equity Resolution. This session examines some of the public testimony shared against the Equity Resolution in order to examine and discuss some of the arguments that are used against equity. Participants should be aware that some of the comments against the Equity Resolution can be difficult to hear. However, the public testimonies against the Equity Resolution provide valuable insights into the reasons some people give for opposing equity, and some of the misinformation that prompts their efforts against equity.
