Climate Stress and the Arab Uprisings: Power Struggles over Water, Bread, and Natural Gas

Guest Presenter, Fadhel Kaboub, will focus on some of the environmental issues over water, bread, and natural gas in the Middle East and some of the consequences of not directly addressing these issues. Immediately following is a luncheon with Dr. Kaboub and faculty.

Dr. Kaboub is an Associate Professor of economics at Denison and President of the Binzagr Institute for Sustainable Prosperity. Before settling at Denison in 2008, he taught at Simon’s Rock College of Bard (MA) and at Drew University (NJ) where he also directed the Wall Street Semester Program (NY). Dr. Kaboub has also held research affiliations with the Levy Economics Institute (NY), the Economic Research Forum (Egypt), the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University (MA), and the Center for Full Employment and Price Stability (MO).
