Just over a year ago, we were all thrown into a world in which teaching and learning for many of us became unfamiliar and uncomfortable. In this past year we adapted and kept moving forward as best we could without having the time to strategically adapt to this eLearning environment. When it comes to pedagogy, not having the time or space to ignite our imagination can hinder our attempts to facilitate learning and engage students. This talk will explore the ways in which creative educators from around the world are igniting their creativity and heightening student learning. Approaches drawn from cognitive psychology, such as retrieval practice, will be discussed. Finally, the importance of collective care and empathy will be stressed as we take the lessons we learned over the past year and put them into action.
