O14P - Sinclair 101: Starting Young - Tour of Early Childhood Education and Mini-University

12:00 - 1:00 PM

Mini University, a high quality childcare and preschool program located on Sinclair's campus, serves children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. All teachers hold degrees in early childhood education, and the classrooms have low teacher-to-child ratios for a more individualized approach. Research-backed methods of learning such as Creative Curriculum and Conscious Discipline are utilized to ensure both academic and social-emotional skills are developed. Sinclair faculty, staff, and students are priority status for enrollment and have access to various funding and discount opportunities. The center is open year-round and has rolling enrollment so families can tour and enroll at any time. The Early Childhood Education (ECE) program at Sinclair provides the knowledge, skills and competencies important to an entry-level teacher working with, or planning to work with, young children. The program includes the academic preparation required by the Ohio Department of Education to meet Pre-Kindergarten Associate Teacher Licensure standards. Graduates may work as pre-kindergarten associate licensed teachers, child care center administrators, infant-toddler teachers, and paraprofessionals in public schools or as school age child care coordinators. Join us for a tour of Mini-University and a discussion of their program presented by Natalie Corral and Nicole Mystic and an introduction to the ECE certification offered by Sinclair by Dr. Swapna Purandare.
