1:00 - 2:00 PM

Zoom Meeting:  https://sinclair.zoom.us/j/86946920184?pwd=dkxUSlcyOTdCdWlUQnJUOWpCaUVwQT09

In partnership with the Miami Valley Long Term Recovery Operations Group, the Sinclair Built Environment department is working to a build a new home for a family who survived the 2019 Memorial Day tornadoes. Current students, with support from faculty and volunteers, will build a home for potential homeowners, providing a valuable service learning opportunity, as well as extensive hands-on learning, networking opportunities, recruitment opportunities, and more. This is one of six houses to be constructed in the first phase of the Pathway to Homeownership Project, which seeks to transition families from renting a home to owning a home, and includes extensive case management and education for participants. Come discuss service learning opportunities in which you can engage with groups of students, colleagues, families, etc. The Built environment has a few volunteer opportunities set up currently and more will be added as opportunities arise. We look forward to brainstorming on ways we can involve faculty, staff and students from all of our Sinclair divisions in this exciting and important service learning opportunity!
