This session provides specific Yogic and meditation techniques for relaxation and mindfulness to better enhance our teaching and our lives.
All sessions begin with a full 20-minute Deep Relaxation (Yoga Nidra). Participants can either sit comfortably in their chairs or lay down on the floor. Participants will be guided through a traditional, Yogic relaxation session, learning how to release tension, anxiety and go into deep silence and breath reflection.
Breath Control Techniques (Pranayama) will follow, as well as guided meditation, which will vary each month. A traditional Mudra may also be taught. Mudras are hand gestures (often called “Yoga of hands”) that further focuses one’s attention for deeper, more focused meditation.
Each session is complete onto itself, yet they will all be cohesive. The goal of offering a monthly session is to enhance and renew your “relaxation” toolbox throughout the semester to help maintain balance and mindfulness.Login to register
