S26P - Just Breathe: Meditation and Mindfulness for Faculty and Staff

The words “Stress” and “Semester” seem to go hand in hand, but do they have to? Associate Professor and Registered Yoga and Meditation Instructor Amanda Hayden will offer a monthly hour of meditation and mindfulness techniques to keep you balanced and grounded. Each session starts with a guided deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra) and will be followed by specific tools for mindfulness including breathing techniques (pranayama), mudras (hand yoga), mantras (Yogic affirmations), meditations, and more. Each month, a new set of pranayama, mudra, mantra and meditation from Yogic (Vedanta) and Buddhist traditions will be taught. You can attend one a semester or one each month! If you are looking for ways to maintain calmness throughout your semester and build up your "self-care" toolbox, this is the workshop for you!
