Strong Student Speeches: Assigning and Evaluating Student Presentations

2:30 - 3:30 PM

Student presentations are a great way for students to demonstrate their knowledge of course material. This workshop will examine the pedagogical utility of student presentations. First, we will discuss the various types of presentations. Next, we will focus on designing presentation assignments that best fit the learning objectives of the course. With an understanding of the design at hand, participants will then learn about Sinclair's Oral Communication general education outcomes rubric and creating their own rubric for their assignments. Finally, participants will leave this workshop the necessary tools to assign and critically evaluate student presentations.
