Join your Sinclair Librarians for monthly discussions around censorship and book banning. Each month, we will gather to discuss either a current issue surrounding censorship or a specific banned or challenged book. Please note, this is a participatory event and you will be expected to read the book or article before we meet.
In this second session, we will meet to discuss memoir-manifesto, and one of the most challenged books of the last 2 years, All Boy’s Aren’t Blue. Limited copies of the book are available in the Ohio Digital Library and the Sinclair Library. https://ohdbks.overdrive.com/search?query=all+boys+aren%27t+blue
Discussion questions and supplemental material will be sent to all who register before the event. This book documents the authors experiences growing up as a Black, Queer man, the intersection of race and sexual orientation, and discusses such themes as consent, sexual assault, and other topics. You can read more about the challenges in the following article: https://www.globalcitizen.org/en/content/george-m-johnson-all-boys-arent-blue-book-bans/.
